Not all students, nor musicians who have completed their performance studies, have had the opportunity to gain knowledge in music education or pedagogy.
The goal is to offer a crash course or an extended program for anyone interested in acquiring the necessary skills to teach an instrument, a theory class, or a group lesson.
The course includes learning the basic theories related to pedagogy, child psychology, followed by more technical knowledge such as how to structure a class, which methods to use, and how to address issues that may arise during lessons.
The theoretical portion is followed by practical sessions, where students who have participated in the course teach in front of their peers, followed by discussions on problem-solving or different teaching approaches.
So far 10 students were involved thanks to the Magnificat Institute, Old city Jerusalem.
